Laura Adamson, Speech Language Pathologist

Laura is a speech language pathologist
(SLP) who works in Braaten Health's Midwest Therapy long term care division. She has two years of experience as an SLP and
her professional background includes working in long term care, outpatient
therapy, and home health.
She specializes in:
- Geriatric Care
- Voice Rehabilitation
- Dysphagia and swallowing management
Her interest in this field developed when she was at the University of Iowa studying pharmacy. Her mother
mentioned that the U of I had the #1 program in the nation for speech language
pathology and that this might be a better fit. Laura investigated this, became
interested, changed her major and has enjoyed speech language pathology ever
since.

She earned her SLP license in 2009 after completing graduate
school and passing her comprehensive examinations, and earned her Certificate
of Clinical Competency (CCC) in 2010 after completing her clinical fellowship
year (CFY).
