Scott Dickman

Expertise:

Scott Dickman is a physical therapist / manager who works for Braaten Health's Midwest Therapy, East Davenport location.  He became a physical therapist in 1999 after graduating from the University of Iowa.  Scott has experience working with long-term care, hospital in-patient, skilled nursing and sport rehabilitation.  The majority of his career has been spent in out-patient orthopedics with a focus on manual and exercise-based techniques.

His special interests include:
  • General orthopedics
  • Back pain
  • Foot and ankle rehabilitation
  • TMJD (temporal-mandibular joint disorders)
     
Scott has had a life-long passion for exercise and fitness.  He became acquainted with physical therapy in college from his roommate who was also pursuing a career in PT.  Scott became employed as a PT technician on a part-time basis while in school and decided that helping people and teaching them to take care of themselves was how he wanted to spend his life.

Scott holds the following degrees/certifications: 
  • MPT - Physical Therapy, University of Iowa, 1999
  • MA - Exercise Science, University of Northern Iowa, 1999
  • BA - Biology, University of Northern Iowa, 1994
  • CSCS - Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, 1999  He earned his physical therapy degree in 1999 after passing board exams.   

Interests:

When not caring for patients at Braaten Health, Scott can be found spending most of his free-time with his wife and kids.  Scott enjoys all things exercise-related, home improvement projects, hunting and camping.  He also serves as the district chair of the Ethics Committee for the Southeast district of the Iowa Physical Therapy Association.
